General
What is "Groupware"?
Groupware is a term used to describe the collaboration of several concurrent user clients and usually a centralized server. Applying this model to Outlook with the CommuniGate connector, Outlook on everyone's computer are the user clients and the e-mail server is the centralized service. Collaboration is achieved through e-mail messaging, meeting scheduling, calendar sharing and public folders.
Limitations
Does the "Message Recall" feature in Outlook work with CommuniGate?
No. This feature does not work normally and should not be used when Outlook is configured with CommuniGate. Using this feature will send an additional, viewable message to all the recipients of the original message that is being recalled and will not recall the original message. This feature only works when the sender and all recipients are using Outlook configured with an Exchange server.
Outlook's Message Recall is not an industry standard e-mail client feature and is not supported by a majority of e-mail clients or servers.
Why is the menu item "File -> Open -> Other User's Folder..." greyed out or not working?
This feature requires a function that is not yet implimented in the current CommuniGate connector.
You can view other's folders (provided you have permission to) by adding the folder to your folder list through the folder settings in the web mail interface.
Why doesn't Outlook's Junk Mail filtering work?
This is a feature that does not work in third party groupware connectors such as CommuniGate Pro. The Safe Senders and Blocked Senders lists, as well as other rules and alerts, still work.
Does Outlook 2007 work with the CFAES Messaging Service Outlook Connector?
No. At this time the Outlook 2007 is not compatible with the current stable CFAES Messaging Service Outlook Connector.
When will the CFAES Messaging Service Outlook Connector and Outlook 2007 incompatibility be resolved?
The upgrade required to resolve this incompatibility is planned for deployment sometime during 2007. Domain administrators and subscribers of the CFAES Messaging Service will be updated throughout the process as it moves forward.
Daylight Savings
Will the upcoming date change to Daylight Savings affect the calendar?
Microsoft provides Windows patches to adjust to the new DST schedule. These patches need to be applied to keep the times in the Outlook calendar correct. Please refer to Microsoft's web page HERE regarding the issue for more information. You should also consult your technical support section before applying any patches.
All the relevant patches have been applied, but events between March 11 and April 1 appear to be one hour off. Is there a fix for this?
Microsoft has released a tool to adjust events within the time period between the new and old start and end dates for DST. Please refer to Microsoft's web page HERE for more information.
