What can I do about unwanted/unsolicited/offensive e-mail?
The only real recourse you have is to notify the Office of Information Technology.
In order to fully investigate where e-mail came from, they will need you to send them the full headers of the messages.
And what does “full headers” mean?
Point a browser to: http://8help.ohio-state.edu/
Search for key words: full headers
You will find help on displaying full headers for 8 popular e-mail programs.
Contact OIT.
Once you harvest the full headers of the offending e-mail, forward the offending message along with the full headers to: abuse@osu.edu
Include a short note explaining that the message is unwanted and that you would like such mailings to stop.
Any additional questions will be handled by emailing OIT at 8help@tsc.ohio-state.edu or calling OIT at 614-688-4357. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7am-10pm.
