Don't forget, your District and Department computer support staff can help too.

Here are highlights of services:

PHP Support for dynamic websites using the PHP engine. PHP is a simple programming language, similar to Perl, that was built for working with the web. Through the use of PHP, one can create sites with database access, dynamic Flash animation, and real-time PDF generation.
WebDAV For the past few years, users have relied on FTP to transport files to the web and back. With the new server, we also offer WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning). This new service allows you to connect to your site like a local drive just by typing in the URL. WebDAV is supported natively on Windows 98/ME/2000, Mac OS X, and through the Dreamweaver/UltraDev package.
MySQL Developers who need an industrial-strength SQL database server can request an account with MySQL access. MySQL offers a full relational database package with performance rated well above Oracle and MSSQL for most common operations.
J2SE Java 2 (1.3) is available for compiling and executing Java applications. While PHP is the preferred scripting language for the server, JSP (Java Server Pages) access is also available to those interested in deploying Java based solutions.
Usage Reports For a one time fee of $15.00 (a cost recovery charge) we will install Quantified's Urchin powerful web log analysis system on your site. For a sample see: Ohioline.
Web Site Search Tool On your request, we can install an htDig search engine and interactive search page, giving your users a tool to search your site's content. htDig is a complete world web indexing and searching system.
Automated Backups While not web-server specific, we have recently implemented an automated backup solution across all our servers. Running twice weekly, all websites are backed up to a RAID 1 storage device. All new web server accounts are added to the backup script after activation. All existing accounts have already been added.

While we've done everything we can to make sure that CGIs and other scripts continue to work as they have, there may be a few things we've overlooked. Please review your site and let us know of any problems or concerns you may have.
